OBD-II code family
Fuel Shutoff Control Faults (3 codes)
3 related fault descriptions. Use each full code and the exact vehicle service information to identify its circuit, monitored condition, and required tests.
Codes in this family
This is the complete published member list for this guide. Each code retains its own page; shared diagnostic context does not mean that every member has the same test or repair.
What these codes mean
P0005 names fuel shutoff valve A control circuit/open; P0006 and P0007 describe low and high circuit conditions. These labels do not identify a particular pump or prove that the monitored valve stops the engine. The member list preserves the exact codes and descriptions.
Identify the manufacturer, reporting module, complete DTC and installed fuel-cut function first. Hino’s SB-16-019 places P0005 in the dosing-injector fuel supply on its listed 2015–2017 conventional trucks. Its separate SB-22-007 describes a specified bubbler-filter condition on certain 2020 J08 trucks. A dosing-system example must not become a universal engine-shutdown diagnosis or a valve/filter replacement instruction for another vehicle.
Circuit low and high concern the characteristic measured by the controller in its required operating state. They do not directly measure fuel pressure, establish an engine-stop strategy or identify a short to a particular wire. Connected and disconnected readings can differ because circuit loading and module bias change. Identify the actual driver and permitted test before interpreting a meter result.
A resistance pass, continuity beep, changed unplugged reading or successful restart does not complete the diagnosis. Have the specified supply, return, control and component checks performed with compatible equipment. Fuel-volume-regulator P0001–P0004 concerns a different designation; its limits and connector tests are not interchangeable with these shutoff controls.
Save the scan and operating conditions before clearing faults. Initial inspection should leave fuel fittings closed. Do not jumper an unidentified fuel-control device or disturb live fuel wiring. Fuel opening requires the correct pressure release, cleanliness and handling procedure. Obtain assistance for leakage, unsafe power loss, stalling or an engine that cannot be shut down normally. Request an itemized quote for the demonstrated fault.
Identify the circuit on your vehicle
Match the full DTC, reporting module, and any failure-type suffix to the service information for your exact year, make, model, engine, and equipment. An identifier alone does not establish installed hardware count, location, connector pinout, or a universal measurement.
Where the manufacturer publishes its own meaning for this code, that is the one to work from — it describes the actual component on your vehicle, which the generic definition cannot. Keep the generic description for what it is good for: it tells you which subject area the standard assigned the code to, which is useful context when the two appear to disagree. If they do disagree, follow the manufacturer.
